Emergency Home
Love Russia provides accommodation that can take in orphans at the point they leave the orphanage system.
Here, they can live without the fear of becoming homeless, receive regular guidance from a mentor, and learn the things most people learn from their parents. Once they find work, they can live with significantly reduced outgoings until they are ready for complete independence.
The Need
When a young person ages out of the Russian orphanage system, they are often unprepared for life and what it means to be independent. Some struggle with even the most basic self-care and self-discipline.
With no understanding of how to plan for the future, challenged by complicated forms, lacking a good education, and with no parents to guide them, many orphanage leavers find themselves homeless.
What your donations do
Love Russia collaborates with a mentor who oversees the management and care of both the home and the young individuals residing within it.
Providing shelter for an orphanage leaver opens up many opportunities. This secure environment allows them to learn to cook, clean, and care for themselves – all the things most of us learn from having a family.
Donations towards our emergency home help maintain and equip it with beds, cookers, and other essentials. They also assist the project leader with the expenses of running the home, as well as subsidising orphans who are not yet able to contribute.
